The University of Dundee was established in 1881 and focuses on teaching traditional and professional degrees using innovative approaches. We excel in research and teaching and hold a Gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017. We have an excellent reputation for student satisfaction and have been named University of the Year for Student Experience (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020). We are also 6th globally for student satisfaction (International Student Barometer 2018). We have ten Schools, covering a variety of subject areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate level:
We are 1st in the UK for course satisfaction in dentistry, environmental sciences, children’s nursing, education, physical geographical sciences and molecular biology, biophysics and biochemistry (National Student Survey 2019). Dundee is a dynamic and multicultural city with a large student population. It is also an affordable place to live, with private rent in Dundee costing on average 20% less than the Scottish national average (Citylets Rental Report Q4, 2018). Our city campus is in the heart of Dundee, with shops, cafés, restaurants and beautiful green spaces within a short walk.
